As Nicolae Carpathia begins a worldwide rebuilding campaign, his rage is fueled by 144,000 Jewish converts, the witnesses foretold in Revelation. They mount an evangelistic effort resulting in the greatest harvest of souls the world has ever seen. While Nicolae plans to make the Christ followers pay, Rayford and Buck search for their wives and a friend (all missing since the earthquake) and for each other.
